P0301 - CYLINDER 1 IGNITION FAILURE






DTC Code P0301 General Description

This P0301 OBD2 DTC code is a generic code for the Powertrain, so it applies to vehicles equipped with OBD-II. Basically, this code indicates that the vehicle's ECM (Engine Control Module) calculator has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not working properly. In this case, it indicates that the fault is in cylinder #1.



Fault Code P0301 Common Symptoms

  • There is a problem starting the engine.

  • Unstable gait.

  • The engine shakes and stalls quickly.

  • Loss of power when accelerating the vehicle.

  • Strong gasoline smell persists.
