P0338 - GLOW PLUGS/HEATER “A” CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

Imagen
DTC Code  P0338  General Description The electric plug spark plugs are designed to heat up the combustion chamber, making it easier to start the engine at low temperatures. These plugs get hot before and during start-up.  Afterwards , they remain open to avoid engine failure until the ideal temperature for good performance is reached. This process reduces pollutant gas emissions and smoke levels when the engine is cold. The engine control module (ECM)  controls the heater plug by monitoring the coolant temperature and heater plug voltage. The heater system has eight separate power circuits between the controller and the heater plug. If the feedback voltage from the controller to the engine control module ( ECM ) is out of range,  DTC  code  P0338  is set. Fault code  P0338  General symptoms Check that the engine indicator light is illuminated. The engine is difficult to start, especially at low temperatures. Causes for OBD2 code  P0338  General Code P0338  may be caused by one or mor

P0301 - CYLINDER 1 IGNITION FAILURE

DTC Code P0301 General Description This P0301 OBD2 DTC code is a generic code for the Powertrain, so it applies to vehicles equipped with OBD-II . Basically, this code indicates that the vehicle's ECM (Engine Control Module) calculator has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not working properly. In this case, it indicates that the fault is in cylinder #1. Fault Code P0301 Common Symptoms There is a problem starting the engine. Unstable gait. The engine shakes and stalls quickly. Loss of power when accelerating the vehicle. Strong gasoline smell persists. Black smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. Cause of OBD2 code P0301 Generic P0301 OBD2 code may have one or more of the following problems. Defective spark plugs or wires. Problem coil. One or both oxygen sensors may be bad. Injector may be faulty. The exhaust valve is burned out. The three-dimensional catalytic converter is bad. Empty fuel tank. Poor compression. PCM (Power Control Module) calculator may be da

P0465 Trouble Code: Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Malfunction (OBD-II )

Imagen
DTC Code P0465 General Description The purge flow sensor (PFS) is usually located near the fuel tank or on top of the fuel pump. The sensor converts pressure from the EVAP system into an electrical signal sent to the PCM (Power Master Control Module). The signal received by the PCM is used to determine the amount of fuel to be injected into the engine and the amount of fuel entering the intake manifold from the evaporative emission control system.1 If this input signal does not match the expected signal established by the manufacturer in the PCM memory, the DTC code P0465 OBDII will be stored. Error Code P0465 Common Symptoms Check engine light comes on. Fuel efficiency is reduced. Cause of OBD2 code P0465 Generic Diagnostic code P0465 OBD2 is set for the following reasons: Electrical circuit or connector may be defective. There may be an open circuit in the purge flow sensor signal. The purge flow sensor signal circuit may be shorted to ground or voltage. The purge flow se

P0342 OBD-II Trouble Code: Camshaft position sensor "A" circuit low

Imagen
Description of DTC code P0342 Generic The CMP ( camshaft position sensor ) is an electronic device used in engines to record the speed of the camshaft. This information is then sent to the ECM (Engine Control Module), which uses it to control fuel injection as well as ignition timing. The camshaft retraction is detected by the CMP sensor and thus identifies a particular cylinder. The piston position is also determined by the CMP sensor . If there is a fault in this sensor, the ECM will not know when the valve is opening or closing. OBDII diagnostic code P0342 refers to a low or insufficient CMP sensor signal. Fault code P0342 Common symptoms Fault light is on. Difficulty starting the engine. Power loss. High fuel consumption. Cause of OBD2 code P0342 Generic When DTC code P0342 OBDII is established, it indicates one or more of the following faults. The camshaft position sensor (CMP) lead or connector may be damaged, resulting in a short circuit. The CMP sensor is faulty. The cab
